Starts over Gibson
Robinson got the start at running back in Saturday's 24-14 preseason loss to the Chiefs and rushed eight times for 31 yards.
Analysis: Robinson started the game and played most of the first three drives, while Antonio Gibson mixed in occasionally over that span. The rookie third-round pick wasn't targeted in the passing game, so he'll likely sit in favor of Gibson and J.D. McKissic in passing situations, but Robinson looks like the favorite to get most of the early-down rushing work for Washington, including the all-important goal-line touches.

Makes most of opportunity
Robinson gained 26 yards on six carries and a touchdown in Saturday's 23-21 preseason loss to the Panthers.
Analysis: Robinson recorded his first carry on the team's third offensive possession. He ripped off gains of 11, six and five yards before finishing the drive with a one-yard plunge into the end zone. Robinson could continue to earn more of a role in the offense, particularly after Antonio Gibson fumbled deep in Washington's own territory Saturday.

Robinson likely will get short-yardage carries this season, and he's already getting extra work in practice while Antonio Gibson recovers from a hamstring injury, Ben Standig of The Athletic reports.
