Another impressive kicking campaign
Butker closed out the regular season Saturday versus the Broncos hitting both of his field-goal tries and both of his extra-point attempts.
Analysis: Butker posted another fabulous campaign from a kicking standpoint in 2021, connecting on 89.3 percent of his field-goal attempts and all but two of his 49 extra-point attempts. His kicking volume hasn't been on quite the level it was earlier in his career, when he attempted 42 field goals in 2017 and 38 field goals in 2019, finishing out the year tied for 18th in makes (25) while finishing 21st in attempts (28). He did salvage some value by finishing fifth among kickers in extra-point…read more

Late field goal not enough
Butker connected on his lone field-goal attempt and all four of his extra-point tries in Sunday's loss to the Bengals.
Analysis: Butker had multiple made field goals in seven straight games prior to his absence last week after landing on the reserve/COVID-19 list. It was a disappointing return to action for Butker, whose game-tying kick late in the fourth quarter wasn't enough to keep the Bengals from picking up the win. He will aim to finish out the regular season strong this week against the Broncos.

Returns from COVID list
Kansas City activated Butker (illness) from the reserve/COVID-19 list Wednesday.
Analysis: Butker sat out the Chiefs' Week 16 win over the Steelers after testing positive for the virus, but he's now back on the active roster following a nine-day isolation period. While filling in for Butker last week, Elliott Fry went 3-for-4 on field-goal attempts and 3-for-4 on point-after attempts. Fry has since been released, clearing the way for Butker to reclaim kicking duties.

Won't be available Week 16
Butker (illness) won't be activated from the reserve/COVID-19 list ahead of the Chiefs' Week 16 game against the Steelers after he tested positive for the virus Monday, Pete Sweeney of ArrowheadPride.com reports.
Analysis: Though vaccinated players that test positive for the virus are eligible to be removed from the NFL's COVID-19 protocol in as little as one day if asymptomatic, unvaccinated players that test positive are subject to automatic 10-day quarantines. While head coach Andy Reid hasn't officially ruled Butker out, Sweeney's report confirms that the kicker is following the protocol for unvaccinated players, making him ineligible to play Sunday. The Chiefs already telegraphed that Butker won't be…read more

Placed on COVID-19 list
Butker was placed on the reserve/COVID-19 list Monday after testing positive for the virus.
Analysis: Butker was one of a handful of Chiefs players to be deactivated Monday due to a positive COVID-19 tests. He'll be eligible to play Week 16 against the Steelers if he's vaccinated and is asymptomatic of the virus, but for now, Butker's status is in flux. Elliott Fry, who was signed to the Chiefs' practice squad last week, would be the most likely candidate to join the active roster if Butker isn't cleared to play against Pittsburgh.

Racking up kicks
Butker converted both of his field-goal attempts and all six of his extra-point tries in Sunday's blowout win over the Raiders.
Analysis: Butker's fantasy value greatly benefits from the Chiefs' recent offensive surge, as he's attempted a combined 13 kicks over the past two games and 26 over the past four. The Chiefs seem to be peaking at the right time for fantasy managers and the team alike, with fantasy playoffs kicking off this week in many leagues and the NFL's playoffs only five weeks away.

Connects on four of five kicks
Butker connected on all three of his field-goal attempts and one of his two extra-point tries Sunday against the Broncos.
Analysis: After missing just one kick through the first nine weeks, Butker has misfired at least once in each of the last three contests. He still hasn't missed on a field goal from inside of 40 yards at this point and has just two missed PATs on his 2021 resume, so there isn't much to worry about at this point. On a positive note, Butker has attempted three or more field goals in each of the last three games after trying no more than two through the first nine games, so there's a reason for optimism…read more

Misses two kicks
Butker missed one of three field-goal attempts and one of two extra-point tries in Sunday's 19-9 win over the Cowboys.
Analysis: Butker started by missing his opening PAT, but he subsequently converted a 37-yard field goal on Kansas City's next drive. After a PAT and a 53-yard make next, Butker ended by going wide right on a 51-yard attempt. Overall, it was a shaky performance from the veteran, who has now missed at least one kick in back-to-back games going into the bye week.

Picking up steam despite misfire
Butker finished 2-for-3 on field goals and 5-for-5 on extra-point attempts Sunday versus the Raiders.
Analysis: Butker's miss Sunday evening marked just his second of the season and his first from inside of 50 yards. On the positive side of things, the Chiefs' offense seems to be headed in the right direction again, giving Butker a season-high eight combined kicking attempts between field goals and extra points Sunday. With Dallas up next, the Chiefs will likely need to light up the scoreboard again in a battle of two high-powered offenses.

Another clean kicking effort
Butker nailed his two field-goal attempts and his lone extra-point try Sunday versus the Packers.
Analysis: Butker has just one misfire in the kicking game all season, and that came on an attempt from more than 50 yards away. He's one of the more reliable kickers at this point, though the Chiefs' offense has been a bit of a letdown this season, shrinking his opportunities to post fantasy points.

Deposits game-winning kick
Butker knocked home both of his field-goal attempts and both of his extra-point attempts Monday versus the Giants.
Analysis: Butker's fantasy value hasn't been quite on the level that was expected with the Chiefs' offense struggling to rack up points consistently. His kicks Monday included a clutch make from 34 yards with just over a minute left, which proved to be the game-winning tally. The offense may need to kick it into gear next week, however, to keep pace with a streaking Packers squad, which could lead to more kicks for Butker.

First misfire of season
Butker connected on one of his two field-goal attempts Sunday versus the Titans.
Analysis: Butker missed his first kick of the season late in the third quarter Sunday, missing a 57-yard attempt that had little impact on a game sporting a 27-3 score at the time. It was an uncharacteristically poor showing from the Chiefs' offense this week, but the team should have a good chance to bounce back next week versus the Giants.

Still unscathed on kicks
Butker nailed his lone field-goal attempt and knocked home all four of his extra-point attempts Sunday versus Washington.
Analysis: Butker connected on his second attempt of 50-plus yards in as many weeks and has yet to misfire on a kick this season, going 6-for-6 on field goals and 23-for-23 on extra points. He could have a good amount of chances on tap this week versus a Tennessee defense allowing 26.8 points per game, ninth-most in the league.

Makes all four kicks
Butker made both his field-goal attempts and both his extra-point tries in Sunday night's 38-20 loss to the Bills.
Analysis: Butker converted from 38 yards to open the scoring before drilling a 54-yarder to end the first half. With eight points total Sunday, he brought his season tally to 34 through five games, surprisingly leaving him in the middle of the pack among kickers league-wide thus far.

Perfect on PATs
Butker did not attempt a field goal but made all six of his extra-point tries in Sunday's 42-30 win over the Eagles.
Analysis: Butker now has two games without a field-goal attempt this season, restricting his output despite the supporting role he plays to Kansas City's high-powered offense. With only three field goals through four games, he sports just 26 points thus far, but Butker at least hasn't missed a single one of his 20 total attempts.

Extends perfect kicking streak
Butker nailed his lone field-goal attempt and all three of his extra-point attempts Sunday against the Chargers.
Analysis: Butker has just three field-goal attempts through three games but has made all of them and has added 11 extra-point tries, making him a perfect 14-for-14 on kicks thus far. His perfection streak extends through the final two postseason contests last year as well, so Butker has gone five straight without missing a kick of any kind. Still perfect on kicks
Butker nailed all of his five extra-point attempts Sunday against the Ravens.
Analysis: Butker didn't have the most fantasy-friendly day considering he didn't attempt a field goal, but he at least salvaged it a bit by making all of his five extra-point tries on the drives the Chiefs finished with touchdowns. He's still a valuable fantasy commodity among kickers given his accuracy and the fact that he's backing one of the best offenses in the league.

Makes all five kicks Week 1
Butker was a perfect 2-for-2 on field goals and 3-for-3 on extra points during Sunday's 33-29 win against the Browns.
Analysis: Butker didn't get much work in the first half as the Chiefs mustered just 10 points by intermission. Patrick Mahomes and company picked up the pace after halftime, though, and Butker ended up finishing Week 1 with a respectable nine points. Butker nailed a relative chip shot from 28 yards out for Kansas City's first three points of the season and later added a 43-yarder, which was a good sign after he was just 3-for-5 from 40-49 yards a year ago. Tallies all of Chiefs' points
Butker connected on all three of his field-goal attempts during Sunday's Super Bowl LV loss to the Buccaneers.
Analysis: Butker did his best to reward the Chiefs' drives into Tampa Bay territory, connecting on two field goals from 49-plus yards out on football's biggest stage. Unfortunately, Butker's first-quarter field goal to open the scoring was the only time Kansas City held the lead all night. He closed out the postseason 7-for-8 on field goals and 6-for-7 on extra-point tries. Perfect in conference clincher
Butker made his only field-goal attempt and all five of his extra-point tries in Sunday's 38-24 win over the Bills in the AFC Championship Game.
Analysis: Butker converted from 45 yards on his lone field goal, which, along with a handful of PATs, helped him rebound from missing twice in the divisional round. After that performance, the kicker should be confident ahead of his team's return to Tampa Bay to play in the Super Bowl. In his Week 12 outing at Raymond James Stadium, Butker made all five of his kicks for nine total points.

Misses twice in win
Butker missed one of his four field-goal attempts and one of his two extra-point tries in Sunday's 22-17 AFC divisional-round win over the Browns.
Analysis: Butker converted from 50, 28 and 33 yards, but he missed his first PAT and hit the left upright with a 33-yarder to begin the second half. Despite putting together another double-digit point outing, Butker has now missed 10 kicks this season, giving him some vulnerability heading into Sunday's AFC Championship Game versus the Bills.

Limited to PATs
Butker did not attempt a field goal but made all three of his extra-point tries in Sunday's 38-21 loss to the Chargers.
Analysis: Butker's opportunities were limited with Kansas City's offense resting its most explosive players. With three points Sunday, Butker finished the regular season with 123 total, placing him 11th league-wide among kickers but marking a new low over his four years to date.

Minimal usage in Week 16
Butker knocked home his lone field-goal attempt and both of his extra-point attempts in Week 16 versus the Falcons.
Analysis: Butker's run of perfection in the kicking game extended to six straight games Sunday, with Butker going 10-for-10 on field goals and 18-for-18 on extra points over that span. He should have a few opportunities to add to his perfect streak in the regular-season finale, but it's worth noting that the Chiefs could rest some of the usual starters with the No. 1 seed in the AFC already locked up.

Analysis: Butker has not missed a kick in any of the last five games, hitting true on all nine of his field-goal attempts and 16 of his extra-point tries. Analysis: While Butker's minimal usage as a field-goal kicker won't help win any fantasy leagues, he at least made his lone attempt of the day and added some extra value by converting all of his four extra-point tries. Connects on five field goals
Butker nailed all five of his field-goal attempts in Sunday's game versus the Broncos.
Analysis: Butker was called on for more than three attempts for the first time all season Sunday thanks to a stingy Broncos defense, and he made more than two kicks for just the third time. He only attempted one extra point on the day but served as the team's primary source of scoring, accounting for 15 of the team's 22 points on the board. Butker knocked home both of his field-goal attempts and all three of his extra-point attempts Sunday versus the Buccaneers.
Analysis: After a pair of zero field-goal attempt games in two of the previous three weeks, Butker made his mark again Sunday, which he needed to in a three-point win. He remains one of the best fantasy kicker options behind the league's second-highest scoring offense (31.6 points per game).

Butker didn't attempt a field goal but knocked home all of his five extra-point attempts during Sunday's game versus the Raiders.
Analysis: Butker has now attempted no field goals in two of the last three games after attempting at least one in each of the first seven contests and a total of 14 over that span. He was at least perfect on his extra-point tries and could be needed more frequently next week versus a Tampa Bay squad coming off of a tough loss Monday to the Rams.

Solid scoring day despite misses
Butker tallied two field goals and three extra points Sunday versus the Panthers.
Analysis: On the downside of Butker's stat line is that he misfired on a pair of kicks, so there were potential points left off the board yet again. The fourth-year kicker missed from inside of 50 yards just once all of last season but has already done so twice and has missed six extra-point attempts after knocking home 45 of 48 in 2019. Butker knocked home all five of his extra-point attempts Sunday versus the Jets.
Analysis: Butker didn't have to attempt a field goal Sunday in what turned into a lopsided affair, but he at least busted a string of missed extra-point attempts in four of the last five games. Next up is a Carolina defense that has held opponents to 27 or fewer points in each of the last six games, though there aren't many teams who can match the Chiefs' offense.

Big day in kicking game
Butker nailed all three of his field-goal attempts and knocked home four of his five extra-point attempts Sunday versus the Broncos.
Analysis: Butker continues to be accurate on field-goal attempts, missing just one of his first 14 through seven games, but he continues to work through some issues on extra-point tries, having missed one in each of the last five games he has attempted one. Despite the minor struggles in that department, Butker's ability to clean up drives with field goals should continue to pay the biggest dividends from a fantasy standpoint.

Misses another PAT
Butker finished Monday's game versus the Bills 2-for-2 on field-goal attempts while connecting on just two of his three extra-point tries.
Analysis: While Butker has misfired on just one field goal through the first six weeks, he's begun a troubling trend of missing on extra-point attempts, missing one in four of the last five contests. Fortunately, it hasn't cost the Chiefs a game to date, but it's something to monitor as the season progresses. Kansas City is averaging north of 29 points per contest through the first six, so there is plenty of reason to believe Butker will continue to get his opportunities in the kicking game.

Analysis: Butker had some recent struggles with extra points, missing one in each of the last three contests, so his return to form Sunday should calm any potential concerns in that department. Analysis: Butker has surprisingly misfired on an extra-point attempt in each of the last three weeks after missing just three of his 48 attempts last season. On the plus side, he was perfect on field goals, which are much more valuable from a fantasy perspective. Uncharacteristic Week 3 outing
Butker missed his only field goal attempt as well as one of his four extra-point tries in Monday night's 34-20 win over the Ravens.
Analysis: Butker followed his Week 2 heroics with an unusually poor performance. He not only went wide left on his first PAT attempt, but also missed the same way on a 42-yard field goal prior to halftime. Through three games, Butker has now misfired on a pair of extra points, with Monday's inaccurate attempt contributing toward a season-low of four points total.

Butker was a perfect 3-for-3 on field goals, including a game-winning kick from 58 yards out in overtime, Sunday versus the Chargers.
Analysis: The only blemish on his record was a blocked PAT, which marked the first miss of any kind so far this season in his kicking game. Even more impressive, Butker hit a pair of kicks from beyond 50 yards Sunday, which can pay major dividends in some fantasy formats. Unfortunately, that didn't go well, with the Titans blocking his 52-yard attempt as time expired.
